Just to make my rating system a bit clearer:
5/5 stars = Perfect! Nothing could have been changed to make this book ANY better. Incredible.
4/5 stars = Great! Nearly perfect, there were just a couple of things I didn't like about this book.
3/5 stars = A good book. I'd recommend it, but not one I'd read again.
2/5 stars = Not good. Wouldn't recommend.
1/5 stars = Appalling book. STAY AWAY.
Sometimes (most of the time) I rate books to be in between 3 or 4 stars out of 10, this just means that it wasn't quite a 4 but was better than a 3 etc.
Info about my audience criteria:
I probably won't read any children's fiction so my audiences will start from 12 and above.
12+ = written in a sophisticated style but no adult themes.
15+ = a few adult themes eg. moderate violence and sex
18+ = many adult themes eg. graphic violence and sex
I hope this clears a few things up!
